“How my newborn son almost lost a hand due to ‘over sabi’ at a hospital in Lekki, Lagos” — Nigerian Dad
A new dad has recounted how a hospital in Lekki put the health of his newborn baby boy in danger because of there insistence on strictly feeding him with breast milk.
The hospital decided to feed the little baby intravenously (through the veins) which resulted to a damage to his skin but was miraculously rectified by another hospital.
However, the needle inserted to feed him through his vein caused him to suffer an abscess that soon turned purple and then black.
A photo shared by the child’s father shows the damage done to the newborn’s hand.
The father said he almost sued the hospital. Thankfully, another hospital in Lekki saved the baby’s hand.
