Passengers unharmed as a bus catches fire on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
In the early hours of Saturday, September 30th, a commercial bus carrying 14 passengers and a driver experienced a fire incident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The bus, a Toyota Hiace with license plate AFN117YL, had departed from the Ijora motor park in Lagos en route to Ilorin when one of its tires burst.
As a result of the tire blowout, the bus caught fire and came to a halt in the middle of the road. Fortunately, none of the passengers suffered burns during the blaze, although some sustained minor injuries while trying to escape from the burning bus.
Regrettably, all the passengers’ possessions were destroyed in the fire. This included the loss of phones, footwear, and important documents for some of the passengers.
