“Shoot Us” – Nigerians Shout As They Clash With Police In Pakistan
A group of Nigerians clashed with police in Karachi, Pakistan on Saturday, September 9, 2023. The clash occurred after the police attempted to disperse a protest by the Nigerians, who were demanding the release of one of their compatriots who had been arrested by the authorities.
The Nigerians reportedly shouted “shoot us” at the police, and threw stones at them. The police responded with tear gas and baton charges.
The clash left several people injured, including both Nigerians and police officers. The Nigerian who had been arrested was eventually released.
The cause of the Nigerians’ protest is not yet clear. However, it is believed that they may have been protesting against the recent spate of arrests of Nigerians in Pakistan.
