A succinct description
One international student who requires a visa to study in the United States (preferably an F-1 or J-1 student visa) can receive the full cost of tuition, accommodation, and board through the AU EGL scholarship. The scholarship does not cover non-billable expenses such obligatory health insurance, books, flights, and other charges (around US$4,000 per year).
The American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship promotes global diversity while promoting educational access and opportunity. The AU Emerging Global Leader combines the best facets of AU: academic success, leadership development, and global involvement. This allows them to flourish, inspire others, and serve with vision. The AU EGL is dedicated to enacting positive social and political change and returning home to assist impoverished and neglected regions there.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship, USA 2023–24, candidates must fulfill the requirements listed below:
- Candidates for the AU EGLS must submit a Regular Decision application for the autumn (August) of 2023. Not apply for Early Decision (ED).
- There will be preference given to international students who have overcome a range of obstacles as well as people with diverse and underrepresented socioeconomic backgrounds.
A minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 4.0 (or being in the top 10% of the graduating class) for grades 9 through 12. - A history of community involvement, leadership, and voluntarism, as well as a commitment to resolving domestic difficulties.
Students who have one of the following qualities:

7.0+ on the IELTS (all subscores must be at least 6.0)

pupils who, while still enrolled, will complete their secondary or high school education by June 2023. - Important: IB students should strive to get a full IB diploma that includes at least three HL topics by the time they graduate. Students enrolled in the British A-Level system must complete 13 years of schooling and at least three A levels by August 2023.
You are not qualified. If you can relate to any of the following:
- You are an American citizen, a permanent resident, planning to become a permanent resident, or you hold dual citizenship with another country.
- Any post-secondary coursework at a separate university in your home country or the US has already begun or you are presently enrolled in it.
- You finished secondary school before 2021.
